Taylor Lautner in Top Gun Sequel?

January 8, 2010 - 9:35 am No Comments

Screen shot 2010-01-08 at 10.35.40 AM

Twilight star, Taylor Lautner, is reportedly in talks to star in Northern Lights, a romantic flick that’s set in aeronautics. According to Deadline Hollywood, the film s about “a gifted, young, aerobatics pilot who faces off with his controlling, billionaire father and falls in love with a gifted, female pilot.”

If the plot line sounds very familiar to you, it’s because it is rumored to be a sequel to the 80’s film that made Tom Cruise, Tom Cruise —Top Gun. Cruise is also eyed to return and will play as mentor to Lautner’s character. Their representatives, however, are not making any comment yet.

Furthermore, the report says that Lautner will be paid around $7.5 million for doing this film….which means that he will become the highest paid young actor of his generation, eclipsing even Robert Pattinson of Team Edward.

Taylor’s Jingle all the way

December 10, 2009 - 2:19 pm No Comments

Recently causing a big buzz in the media are the two Taylors who are rumored to be couples in real life. Taylor Lautner, star of the movie Twilight Saga: New Moon, was seen backstage on the recently concluded concert called “Jingle Bells”. Taylor Swift performed in the said event, which was a collaboration of different MTV artists to welcome the holiday season. “Taylor Swift’s not the only Taylor people are talking about here,” says Ryan Seacrest on an interview with Entertainment Tonight, who also happened to be present in the event.

Although working in completely different venues (Lautner in movies, Swift in MTV), the two young stars crossed paths early this year because of the filming of the upcoming movie “Valentine’s Day.” According to both mainstream and paparazzi footages, the two have been dating ever since. They were often seen on dinner dates and the two being together became cannon fodder for the photographers.

Fans all over have mixed feelings of the Taylors and their steakhouse romance. I personally think that they look good together. The werewolf hunk sure catches a lot of attention being seen attached to Swift. I’ve read a lot of hate messages in different blogs. Apparently, Lautner left a lasting impression of his attitude in relationships since his breakup with Selena Gomez. But the success of New Moon put Lautner back on the top of the “who to date” list. “He’s cute!” Taylor enthusiastically tells Ellen on her show. This statement may have been an understatement for many girls who have seen the movie, where Lautner flaunts his well built body.

Anyhow, the two Taylors are both in cloud nine right now. Successful in their own platforms regardless of critics. Both will have a grand time this holiday season. A “jingle all the way” indeed.

Selena Gomez and Taylor Lautner

November 28, 2009 - 12:50 pm 1 Comment

I can’t get over of Selena Gomez (Laughing out Loud), she’s so gorgeous and has this pleasing personality. I’d always watch her show in the disney channel, and I think she’s really a great actress. I also like her because she’s the ex-girlfriend of Taylor Lautner (Which I’m head over heels now because of “New Moon”) and now I’m blogging about them because I think they really look good together. Taylor and Selena was seen dating  on public, holding hands and cuddling each other. But these sweet moments suddenly just vanished into thin air after Taylor’s dad  told him that it’s not healthy for his career to be seen with his girlfriend. (But why? Selena is a great girl) Taylor’s dad said that he should focus first in his career and stop making Selana believe that she’s the one for him(Taylor). This is just a sad story, but I think Taylor did a right think by obeying his parents. I admire him for doing that, but I hope the closure was ok. Anyway on Selena’s part, I salute her for not making a big deal out of it. She handled it without so much drama and stuff, and that shows  her maturity. But while I was checking her tweets about the break up, I saw this one “A man who does not think for himself does not think at all.”  Well, she has a point, but she has to understand that it doesn’t mean Taylor can’t decide for himself, he just wanted to follow his parents because it’s the right thing to do. On the other hand, I hope Taylor was able to explain his side to Selena.

Selena admitted on one of her interviews that she’s really not into the Twilight fever. She said that it wasn’t because of her ex boyfriend, she just thinks that the movie is a cult and that she doesn’t believe on those stuff.

Kristen Stewart- New Moon

November 7, 2009 - 3:48 pm 1 Comment
Kristen Stewart also known as “Bella Swan” of the movie “twilight” has been an icon of young kids in this generation. A lot of die-hard fans of this movie wish that they were in her position and I had to admit that I’m one of them. After watching twilight, I can’t stop thinking about the chemistry between Kristen and Robert. They really look good together and I think they’ll be an adorable couple. The whole movie really brought out my mushy side. Honestly, Kirsten wasn’t the actress I was expecting to potray Bella’s character. I was thinking of other well-known actress, but infairness to Kristen, she showed everybody that she’s the right one for this movie. I like her “boyish” side because it makes her look cool and simple. Kristen said on one of her interviews that she really has to work really hard because of the expectations of the people. She has to read all the books of twilight so that she can internalized her character.  She enjoys taping with her co-actors that’s why a lot of people are really curious which one (Robert Pattinson or Taylor Lautner)she really likes. Too bad for all those “Kristen and Edward’s” die-hard fans, because Kristen has a boyfriend. Though recently I heard that Kristen has been having problems with her guy. People tried to ask her about this boyfriend issue but Kristen decided not to make a big deal out of it. This November they’re going to show “New Moon” on the big screen. The trailer of this upcoming movie has made twilight fans go crazy. I’m just hoping “New Moon” is better than the first one to  avoid frustrations from all the twilight fanatic.

The Twilight Saga: New MoonIn the second installment of Stephenie Meyer’s phenomenally successful “Twilight” series, the romance between mortal and vampire soars to a new level as Bella Swan (Kristen Stewart) delves deeper into the mysteries of the supernatural world she yearns to become part of—only to find herself in greater peril than ever before.

Following Bella’s ill-fated 18th birthday party, Edward Cullen (Robert Pattinson) and his family abandon the town of Forks, Washington, in an effort to protect her from the dangers inherent in their world. As the heartbroken Bella sleepwalks through her senior year of high school, numb and alone, she discovers Edward’s image comes to her whenever she puts herself in jeopardy. Her desire to be with him at any cost leads her to take greater and greater risks.

With the help of her childhood friend Jacob Black (Taylor Lautner), Bella refurbishes an old motorbike to carry her on her adventures. Bella’s frozen heart is gradually thawed by her budding relationship with Jacob, a member of the mysterious Quileute tribe, who has a supernatural secret of his own.

When a chance encounter brings Bella face to face with a former nemesis, only the intervention of a pack of supernaturally large wolves saves her from a grisly fate, and the encounter makes it frighteningly clear that Bella is still in grave danger. 40 Handsomest Men in Hollywood

August 21, 2009 - 2:46 pm 3 Comments

Well, we did the ladies, so now it’s time to do the gentlemen.  Whoo hoo!  Like before, I’ll divide them up into Absolutely!  Who the heck is he? and Him?  And as before, the list is Premiere’s, but the comments are mine.

Robert Pattinson, courtesy of PopularBiographies.com

Absolutely!

Robert Pattinson.  For all his Twilight yumminess, this young man does not always photograph well.  Still, he’s got this kind of melancoly intensity about him that my caretaking side can’t resist.  Come to mama, sweetie!

Hugh Jackman.  Masculine, funny, and devoted to his wife and family.  Could anything be sexier?

Christian Bale.  Completely intense, therefore totally sexy.  However, the temper tantrum thing is a bit of a turnoff.

Orlando Bloom.  So I’ve still got a thing for Legolas.  So sue me.

Gerard Butler.  Sure, he’s a Hugh Jackman clone, but I love Hgh Jackman, so I say more is better.

Zac Efron.  Too young…he’s too young…too young…

Denzel Washington.  How can one man be so intense and so laid back at the same time?  My favorite is Crimson Tide, when he wears the Navy uniform.

Johnny Depp.  He’s the most chameleonic actor out there, and if he’s being human, he’s still extremely attractive.  Some of us have loved him for 25 years.

Eric Bana.  Oh, yes.

Aaron Eckhart.  I have always loved him.  I loved him before you did.  I loved him before YOU even knew who he was.

Idris Elba.  There’s just something about this guy…strong, quiet, funny…mmmm.

Daniel Craig.  I debated on where he should go on my list, but then I remembered seeing pics of him shirtless.  That, combined with those bright blue eyes, catapulted him onto my personal A-list.

Ewan McGregor!  YES!!  I absolutely love him, and I think he’s one of the most underappreciated (yet most regularly working) actors in the business.  The blue eyes, the crooked smile, the Scottish accent…sigh.  And the man can do ANYTHING.  Comedy, drama, action, anything.

Ewan McGregor, courtesy of The Hollywood News

Who the heck is he?

Josh Duhamel.  His big career move is apparently Transformers.  ‘Nuff said.

Channing Tatum.  He does have a cool name, but other than that he seems to be a clone of older, better, sexier actors.

Joseph Gordon Levitt.  Cute…but that’s all.

Joseph Gordon-Levitt from HotCelebsToday.com

Joseph Gordon-Levitt from HotCelebsToday.com

Jay Hernandez.  No idea who this person is.

Emile Hirsch.  I knew the name, now I know the face…not impressed.

Chris Messina.  *shrug*

Tyrese Gibson.  Not that I don’t appreciate the shirtless pic…

Gael Garcia Bernal.  I don’t know his work very well, but from the pic he looks like a Latino Jake Gyllenhall.

Josh Lucas.  Not sure who he is, but not all that impressed with the pics.

Milo Ventimiglia.  Dark, brooding, Italian…he has possibilities.  I’ll keep my eye on him.

Him?

James Franco.  I like him as an actor, but the cheekbones are a little too much.  And actually, I don’t always like him as an actor, so…

Bradley Cooper.  Yeah, he’s handsome.  And he and Renee are a cute couple.  But he elicits nothing more than a shrug from me.

Ryan Reynolds.  Meh…

Jake Gyllenhall.  Not that he can’t be sexy in the right role…I like him, but I don’t find him attractive.

James Marsden.  Too pretty.

Brad Pitt.  Good actor, but I’m sick to death of him.

Jamie Foxx.  Excellent actor, but that’s as far as my appreciation extends.  And I don’t like that “Blame it on the Alcohol” song.

Chris Pine.  I think I’ve just seen him in too many bad movies.  He always seemed like a poor girl’s Rob Lowe to me.

Dwayne Johnson.  He’s becoming a good comedic actor, but he still doesn’t do it for me.

Jonathan Rhys Meyers.  He does have a sort of bohemian half-starved yumminess, but it’s not enough to make my personal A-list.

Robert Downey, Jr.  I love him as an actor and admire  him for his personal victories.  But I don’t think he’s all that hot.

Leonardo Di Caprio.  I think he’s a better actor than he’s given credit for, but he just doesn’t do it for me.

Paul Rudd.  Nice guy, but…

Ryan Gosling.  This is another actor I’ve been following since he was very young, but not for his looks.

Dennis Quaid.  What, is the token old guy on the list?

Ed Burns.  Meh…

George Clooney.  It just depends.  Sometimes he hits my A-list, sometimes not.

So, that’s 40.  Did they miss anyone?  Heck, yeah!  How about Laurence Fishburn?  Seriously, is there a sexier character than Morpheus anywhere in the world?  Or Taylor Lautner?  Brendan Fraser?  Daniel Radcliffe?  WILL SMITH, for goodness sake!  Bill Paxton!  Peter Facinelli!  Viggo Mortensen!  Justin Timberlake, Billy Burke, Jamie Bamber, Ioan Gruffud, Karl Urban, Harrison Ford…yeah, they missed a LOT!

Howard to Replace Lefevre in 3rd Twilight Sequel

July 30, 2009 - 4:06 pm 2 Comments

According to Summit Entertainment, Rachelle Lefevre has scheduling conflicts that won’t allow her to appear in the 3rd installment of the Twilight Saga, Eclipse.  Lefevre has played the role of Victoria, the wicked vampire stalking Bella, for Twilight and New Moon, but now will be replaced by the bigger name Bryce Dallas Howard.

Now, I’m not an agent, but it seems very unlikely to me that a small time actress, who got the biggest break of her career in this series, would suddenly come up with “scheduling conflicts.”  And if you ask Lefevre, my instincts are on the money.  In a statement released yeseterday, Lefevre stated:

“I was stunned.  I was fully committed to the Twilight saga.  I am hurt deeply by Summit’s surprising decision to move on without me…I was happy with my contract with Summit and was fully prepared to continue to honor it.  Summit chose simply to recast the part. I am greatly saddened that I will not get to complete my portrayal of Victoria for the Twilight audience.”

Lefevre does admit that she has a role in another film, Barney’s Version,  but she insists that this film has a very minor overlap with the filming of Eclipse, and that it never occurred to her that there would be any conflict.  “I turned down several other film opportunities and, in accordance with my contractual rights, accepted only roles that would involve very short shooting schedules. Given the length of filming for Eclipse, never did I fathom I would lose the role over a 10 day overlap.”

Summit wasn’t too thrilled with that statement, and promptly issued an official response.

Ms. Lefevre’s representatives were advised as early as April that THE TWILIGHT SAGA: ECLIPSE was expected to start shooting in early August.

If Ms. Lefevre was, as she describes “passionate,” about being part of THE TWILIGHT SAGA, we feel that she and her representatives would have included us in her decision to work on another film that would conflict with the shooting schedule of THE TWILIGHT SAGA: ECLIPSE.

It was not until July 20th that Summit was first informed of Ms. Lefevre’s commitment to BARNEY’S VERSION, a commitment we have since been advised she accepted in early June.  Summit had acted in good faith that she would be available to fulfill her obligations both in terms of rehearsals and shooting availability for THE TWILIGHT SAGA: ECLIPSE. We feel that her choice to withhold her scheduling conflict information from us can be viewed as a lack of cooperative spirit which affected the entire production.

Furthermore Ms. Lefevre took a role in the other film that places her in Europe during the required rehearsal time, and at least ten days of THE TWILIGHT SAGA: ECLIPSE’s principal photography.  This period is essential for both rehearsal time with the cast, and for filming at key locations that are only available during the initial part of production.

Contrary to Ms. Lefevre’s statement, it is simply untrue that the Studio dismissed her over a ten day overlap.  It is not about a ten day overlap, but instead about the fact that THE TWILIGHT SAGA: ECLIPSE is an ensemble production that has to accommodate the schedules of numerous actors while respecting the established creative vision of the filmmaker and most importantly the story.

The fact remains that Ms. Lefevre’s commitment to the other project – which she chose to withhold from Summit until the last possible moment – makes her unfortunately unavailable to perform the role of Victoria in THE TWILIGHT SAGA: ECLIPSE.

You’d think that after all the uproar over replacing Taylor Lautner, Summit would have learned not to screw with fan loyalty.  And fans are not happy about this.  They point out that everyone knew about Lefevre’s role in Barney’s Version, because it was being reported in the trades, so how could Summit NOT know about it?

And does it strike anyone else as just a little suspicious that they could get a star the caliber of Bryce Dallas Howard at a moment’s notice?  I mean, it’s the end of July and she just happens to have August, September and October free for an “unexpected” role with an immediate 3-month shoot?

Here’s what I think.  I think that Summit was so pleasantly surprised by the positive feedback they got when they cast Dakota Fanning as Jane that they thought they’d see if they could pull it off again.  But since everything was cast, they had to replace someone.  They must have been in talks with Howard for months–she’s too big a name to just step into a role like this without months of negotiations. When Lefevre informed them of her little tiny scheduling overlap, they saw a chance to push her out without looking like bad guys–I mean, who could get upset over a scheduling conflict, right?  But Lefevre didn’t go along with their plan, and now they DO look like bad guys.

Twilight fans are furious, but we all know they (ahem, we) will still go see this movie.  Eclipse is the best book in the series, and far and away the fan favorite.  And who doesn’t want to see Edward rip Victoria to shreds?  Unfortunately, when Rob Pattinson takes her apart in this movie, the cheers will be very personal.  We’ll go see it, but there’s nothing Bryce Dallas Howard can do now to make fans approve of her in this role.  And I wouldn’t be surprised to see fans boycott her in the future, either.  That would be only marginally useful; the one we should be boycotting is Summit Studios.  However, since they produce the Twilight films, I don’t think that’s going to happen.

Taylor and Selena Break Up?

June 10, 2009 - 1:35 am No Comments

If you ask me, this is a made-up story.  I don’t know that Taylor Lautner (of twilight and New moon, in case you live in a cave) and Selena Gomez (of Wiizards of Waverly Place, in case you don’t have kids ages 9-12) were ever really dating; nobody ever had more than rumors to support that speculation.  Not that it wouldn’ t have been great–they’d be utterly adorable together.

But if you look at some of the articles that are “reporting” this story, they keep quoting these two as saying things like, “She’s a great girl,” and “We’re good friends.”  That was before and after this break-up rumor.

Nevertheless, Gomez does say she’s single.  And last I heard, Lautner was, too (though how that could be is beyond me).  So, if they broke up, I hope they’re both okay and not too heartbroken.  I’m sure there are lots of guys and gals ready and willing to step in and help them feel better.
