Elizabeth Banks to Play Tinkerbell

Screen shot 2010-07-16 at 1.57.21 PM Lots of fairy tale stories getting live action treatment, and the latest comes from this unconfirmed report that Elizabeth Banks is going to play the role of Tinkerbell in this McG directed live-action version. With that director on board, you can bet it’s going to be a smorgasbord of eye-candy.

The said film is said to be an “uncanny version” of the fantasy story and that Tinkerbell will be more mischievous than ever.

I’m thrilled to see Banks in the role as well as she is someone who does have this ability to play naughty and nice at the same time.

There is no other word yet on what else and who else will take part in the film, but I’m betting it’s going to be light, campy and really fun!

Charles Phoenix’s “Up with Downey” Tour

Comedian and Pop Culture Expert Charles PhoenixJoin comedian and pop culture expert Charles Phoenix on an all-new field trip adventure. Charles Phoenix’s “Up with Downey” Tour, a 5-hour Up with bus and walking tour of America’s greatest space age suburban city, Downey, CA, takes place on Saturday, March 27 from 12 pm to 5 pm.

Downey is a mid-century suburban smorgasbord of googie landmarks, sprawling ranch homes, designer office buildings and deluxe dingbat apartments. But Downey isn’t all about the space age. Hidden away in the corner of city is a virtually undiscovered ghost town of amazing 1880s-1920s buildings in an enormous giant tree garden setting – all remains of the Los Angeles County “Poor Farm,” founded in 1888. According to Charles, “You have to see it to believe it.”
