Actor Andy Hallett Dies of Heart Failure
Andy Hallett died of heart failure Sunday at Cedars-Sinai Hospital in Los Angeles. He was 33. Hallett had apparently been suffering from heart disease for quite some time.
Hallett was best known for playing the demon Lorne on the vampire television series Angel.
It’s interesting, isn’t it, how much we come to care about people we’ve never actually met? They’re just people doing jobs, but they touch us. I know that the whole Buffy enterprise has a huge, loyal fanbase, and that they, especially, will feel this young man’s death in their hearts.
Our sympathies go out to Hallett’s family. I’ve read that his father was with him when he died; I especially want to offer him my condolences. It’s always wrong when a parent has to bury a child, like the universe has turned upside down and shaken everyone up.
We wish you every blessing on your next journey, Andy. Be at peace.
And, really, if the rest of the entertainment industry could be especially careful and healthy in the next little while, that’d be great. There’s been too much tragedy recently.
