Jennifer Lawrence is Mystique

July 16, 2010 - 5:57 am No Comments

Screen shot 2010-07-16 at 1.50.39 PM Most people will probably wonder — Jennifer who? But I bet this 19 year old actress is going to be a huge name after X-men: First Class hits theaters next year. The movie is, in case you didn’t know, going to be the prequel to the Xmen films we have all enjoyed in the last decade. Most of the mutants on this film, that will be in production soon, are young and fresh.

Earlier this week, Kevin Bacon has also been confirmed to play the role of a villain, while Aaron Johnson, who became a teen icon after his movie Kick-Ass did really well, is going to play the young Cyclops.

The latest X-men movie is beginning to shape up and it looks like we’re going to see a lot more actors and characters this time around.

Last night though, the King was Bigelow, who bested her ex-husband, and eight other films, for the top honors at the 82nd Academy Awards.

Though tied at the nominations, The Hurt Locker walked away with six out of nine awards. It was a very surprising result in an otherwise very boring ceremony.

The show was hosted by Steve Martin and Alec Baldwin and although there were a couple of highlights, like Ben Stiller’s appearance dressed as a Nav’i, or that John Hughes tribute which had some of the stars of the 80’s present, this year’s event, spanning nearly four hours long, was  a total snoozefest overall.

Anyway, the complete list of winners follow after the cut —-
