It is no secret that the victory of U.S. President elect Barrack Obama has inspired a lot of groups to take on more cameo roles and apparently show business is not one that is to be left out. Barely some weeks after the Obama victory, people are now buzzing on perhaps pointing towards a “black” James Bond, coming out perhaps from the raves and rants of the new movie “Quantum of Solace” which just recently hit the box office starring Daniel Craig.

It has been said that Will Smith has the inside track of being the first black James Bond although another actor, Jamie Foxx has openly declared that it would be an honor for him to be the first black Bond.

Let us assess both actors:

Will Smith. Without a doubt, Smith has proven his legacy in all film genres. His roles in various films that have become hit starting from Men in Black, I-Robot and I am Legend are perhaps one reason why this sexy star is being groomed as a perfect fit for the role. Audience impact, Smith obviously has it and if he should be the Black Bond, expect producers to be counting the green.

Jamie Foxx. Jamie Foxx has been aggressive through the years and he has certainly come into his own. But as far as fan impact is concerned, we all know that Smith still has a huge lead against him. Perhaps it is not yet time for Foxx to dream of being the first black James Bond although anything can happen especially when budget starts talking.

Of the two, it is obvious that if audience impact is to be counted, Will Smith is definitely it.

Comedian Bernie Mac Passes Away at 50

Bernie Mac will probably be remembered as that comedian that played memorable roles in box office movies such as “Charlie’s Angels: Full Throttle” and the all-star films Ocean’s Eleven. With a flourishing career, Bernie Mac passed away Saturday at the age of 50 due to pneumonia complications at a Chicago Hospital.

The comedian suffered from sarcoidosis, an inflammatory lung disease that produces tiny lumps of cells in the body’s organs, but had said the condition went into remission in 2005. He recently was hospitalized and treated for pneumonia, which his publicist said was not related to the disease.

Mac was in a class of his own. He had his share of great roles as well as starring alongside current and future stars. He was truly one of the “Original Kings of Comedy” and will surely be missed.
