Zac Effron Goes Bad

April 16, 2010 - 9:15 am No Comments

Screen shot 2010-04-16 at 12.19.32 PMThe star of High School Musical, Zac Effron, may be abandoning his good boy looks and image for taking a stab at a role of a cocaine dealer in the upcoming film produced by Warner Bros called “Snabba”. The film is a remake of a Swedish movie called “Snabba Cash” and the Disney star, who is idol to a lot of teenagers all over the world, says he is ready to break free from his wholesome image.

The film, “Snabba” is going to be a trilogy from the Jens Lapidus’ ‘Stockholm Noir Trilogy’. The actor is also going to be producer for this.

I’m raring to find out how much depth of talent this teen idol has, now that he is ready to take on more challenging and mature roles. He is, I believe, a star with a lot of potential.

Charlie Sheen to Leave Two And A Half Men

April 5, 2010 - 8:47 am No Comments

Screen shot 2010-04-04 at 2.51.38 PMBecause of all his troubles, Charlie Sheen is reportedly quitting his television program, Two and A Half Men, which he leads together with Jon Cryer. The actor was sent to rehab following a domestic dispute with his wife Brooke Mueller. The real life episode didn’t just happen that first time as the couple was apparently constantly in friction.

Charlie Sheen was supposed to return to work this week, but has said he is quitting the show altogether. Studio bosses at CBS, where the show is airing and is in fact rating really well (in spite of the fact that I personally do not know a lot of people watching this!), are not commenting on whether or not this is true. But sources say, Sheen’s contract will eventually allow him to part ways. In short, he is no longer obligated after his contract ends and it will end soon.

Law Abiding Citizen

I’ve recently watched the Law Abiding Citizen and all I could say is hands down to Gerard Butler. From a fearless Spartan King, to a jerk-y date doctor, and now a vengeful tactical murderer, I’d say Gerard pulled it off. Even with all the impossibilities implicated on the film, it’s a one of a kind charade of how one man can take matters in his own hands.
By far, all the reviews I’ve read on the film are filled with negativity. I say TO HELL WITH THEM! I mean, yeah, most of the scenarios were almost humanly impossible to do, but that’s not the point! It’s the aura that Gerard puts on the film’s antagonist, or protagonist ,rather. No, wait…Whoa! I’m still confused. Mainly because every successful murder that he did just made you want to side with him more. Here’s a guy whose family was murdered, and the cons responsible didn’t get the punishment they deserved, all because of the f***ed up justice system. This makes Clyde Shelton’s (Gerard Butler) mission more than just an act of vengeance. He declares war on the city’s judiciary itself.
The movie was filled with surprises, and it went beyond the boundaries of what a normal film would do. It was a mix of movie genres as well. A few minutes in to the film, I thought for a moment I was watching a scene from the Saw series. Trying to be unbiased, since I became a fan of Gerard ‘coz of 300, I’d give the movie a 4 out of 5.
