In the sequel, Mickey Rourke will play Whiplash, a character that includes elements from that comic book villain and Crimson Dynamo, another Russian baddie.
Sam Rockwell will play Justin Hammer, a multibillionaire businessman and a rival of industrialist Tony Stark, AKA Iron Man, being played by a returning Robert Downey Jr.
Jackie Earle Haley (”Watchmen”) will play the new Freddy Krueger in Line Cinema’s relaunch of the “A Nightmare on Elm Street” series. The original “Nightmare” was written and directed by Wes Craven and released in 1984. The new project will keep the high school setting and delve deeper in the psychology of nightmares and Freddy Krueger himself.
FHMonline is pleased to announce Megan Fox as the winner of FHM’s 100 Sexiest Women In The World 2009 poll. The Transformers actress becomes only the second woman in the 15 year history of the poll to retain her spot at the top (after Jennifer Lopez in 2001/2002).
Actresses took all the top five positions. Jessica Alba placed second (up one place), Scarlett Johansson third (up two places) and Jessica Biel fourth (down two places). Californication’s Madeline Zima was this year’s highest new entry at number five in the list.
Excluding 24’s Elisha Cuthbert (7th), the remaining places in the coveted top ten are all new. Katy Perry (10th) is a new entry and model Adriana Lima (6th), reality star Heidi Montag (8th) and actress Anne Hathaway (9th) are big climbers.
Britney Spears is the comeback queen of the year. A previous winner, Spears scraped into the 2008 list in 100th place but a tremendous online campaign by her legions of fans have seen her climb back up to 12th position.

By using the new FlickRocket platform, independent moviemakers are for the first time able to set up their own download sales solution for fully featured DVDs with download-to-own, burn or rental options.
FlickRocket is based on fluxDVD technology which was previously only licensed to Hollywood Studios and large international corporations. The fluxDVD technology enables the compressed DVD transfer with all features of the original DVD such as menus, bonus materials, multiple audio tracks, subtitles and video angles.
With FlickRocket, moviemakers no longer have to deal with the complex tasks of encoding video into different formats, file-hosting or setting up their own web shop and payment systems. The FlickRocket tools handle the content preparation, tagging and upload to the FlickRocket Content Delivery Network and the creation of an individual web shop.
The customizable web shop can be embedded in the moviemakers’ web site by simple copy-and-paste. It handles the complete payment process and supports multiple languages and different currencies. Movie distribution is possible with and without Digital Rights management and supports rental, download-to-own and download-to-burn to regular DVD-Rs. The burned discs may optionally be copy-protected and play on every DVD player. The system also offers the possibility of shipping DVDs by mail to customers without high-speed Internet access.
“FlickRocket is the perfect solution for moviemakers that want to enjoy the benefits and higher profits of direct sales to end-users. No special technical skills are required and the moviemaker can concentrate on what he does best — making great movies,” says Michael Schmidt, VP Marketing at ACE.
Signing up to FlickRocket requires only a valid email address. Moviemakers can use the free basic account to set up online fully featured DVD download sales on their site within minutes.
I’ve been hearing about this for a couple of days, but never bothered to watch the video until today. (it can’t be embedded here, so you’ll have to go to the link)
Susan Boyle is a frumpy little middle-aged Sottish woman who went on Britain’s Got Talent. She began by cracking some silly jokes and acting fairly dorky, making the audience collectively roll their eyes at her.
Then she started singing “I Dreamed a Dream” from Les Miserables. The audience shut up–and fast. Two lines into the song, the cheers began, the audience was on their feet. The judges were moved to tears–even notorioulsy mean Simon Cowell was entranced (seriously, I’ve never seen a face so open and awed as Simon’s was during this performance).
Susan Boyle really showed them. 47 isn’t too old to have a dream, if you’ve got the heart and skill to back it up. She does, and then some.
Susan, I don’t know you, but I loved watching and listening to you sing. Most of all, I loved watching you win their respect. You deserve it.
Tagged as dark comedy, this film by Warner Brothers is rated R, seems controversial and is a film that many people are bound to check out. The film stars Seth Rogen, Anna Faris, Michael Pena, Ray Liotta, and Jesse Plemons.
Synopsis:
At the Forest Ridge Mall, head of security Ronnie Barnhardt patrols his jurisdiction with an iron fist, combating skateboarders, shoplifters and the occasional unruly customer while dreaming of the day when he can swap his flashlight for a badge and a gun. His delusions of grandeur are put to the test when the mall is struck by a flasher. Driven to protect and serve the mall and its patrons, Ronnie seizes the opportunity to showcase his underappreciated law enforcement talents on a grand scale, hoping his solution of this crime will earn a coveted spot at the police academy and the heart of his elusive dream girl Brandi, the hot make-up counter clerk who won’t give him the time of day. But his single-minded pursuit of glory launches a turf war with the equally competitive Detective Harrison of the Conway Police, and Ronnie is confronted with the challenge of not only catching the flasher, but getting him before the real cops do.
To my dismay, I was really waiting for another DC hero to be filmed using real time people. Apparently I had that wrong impression with the Green Lantern:First Flight which will show an animated type of a film similar to what we see on Cartoon Network.
Regardless, here is the video of the Behind the Scenes clip for Green Lantern: First Flight.
PS. Be on the lookout for the next animated movie after this. It is entitled “Superman/Batman:Public Enemies”.
For the many fans of Claudia Schiffer, you will be glad to note that she is making a comeback in the modeling scene. And make no mistake about it, she is coming back with a bang as she has lined up three marquee products that are welcoming her back in the world of advertising and promotions despite the cutdown claims in these hard times we are in.
Schiffer silently went out of the scene after an active modeling binge in the 1990’s. The German actress has had some issues with harassment from various people, showing you how hot and in demand Schiffer was during her prime.
She has appeared in several films that included Zooland and Richie Rich. So if you sum it all up, she is a prized find to carry the new face of YSL, Dolce and Gabana and Ferragamo. Watch out for it!
A Spanish jetliner was reported to have swerved off the runway in Madrid killing 153 passengers which is the worst disaster in nearly 25 years. The plane was said to be taking off for the Canary Islands vacation resort which turned into a hellish scene. There were only 19 people who survived the said crash and some in critical condition.
While many of the rescuers were still in disbelief, the whole incident was believed to be an accident. Dozens of black hearses arrived at the scene to bring the charred bodies to nearby morgues.
“The scene is devastating,” said Pablo Albella, an emergency rescue worker. “The fuselage is destroyed. The plane burned. I have seen a kilometer of charred land and few whole pieces of the fuselage. It is all destruction.”
Rescuers rushed the few survivors to hospitals, while emergency workers shrouded the dead in white sheets. One body lay on burned grass, an arm and a leg poking out.
Later, a long convoy of black hearses rolled onto the airport grounds to carry bodies to a makeshift morgue set up at Madrid’s main convention center. Flight departures resumed after several hours.
It was not immediately clear what went wrong. Alvarez said the jetliner had barely gotten airborne when it veered right, crashed and broke into pieces.
A spokesman for Spanair, a Spanish company wholly owned by Scandinavian Airlines, said it did not know what caused the accident. Alvarez, the government minister, said investigators ruled out foul play and considered the crash an accident.
