Mariah Carey’s Christmas Album

August 20, 2010 - 3:04 am No Comments

Screen shot 2010-08-20 at 6.09.29 PMChristmas comes early for Mariah Carey fans as she has announced the release of her Christmas album for the 2010 Holidays. The last time the singer did this was in 1994, when her very first Yuletide album topped the charts for that season. And now she is eager to double that feat with the November release of this. The album will feature six Christmas songs including her version of All I Want For Christmas Is You.

Also in November, the actress could be busy judging the singing show, American Idol. As revamps and changes are happening on the show for its tenth season, it’s been rumored that Mariah Carey may be joining the judges’ panel following the departure of Ellen DeGeneres and the firing of Kara DioGuardi.

This hasn’t been confirmed yet, as spokesperson for both camps have been mum on the issue.

Justin Beiber Lifestory in the Works

August 4, 2010 - 1:08 pm No Comments

Screen shot 2010-08-04 at 8.59.42 PMTeen sensation, Justin Beiber, the sixteen year old pop star that most teenagers and kids above ten years old are crazy about these days, is said to be doing a film that will be based on his young life. While Hollywood often make films based on someone’s life, this is treated quite differently because the producers of the Justin Beiber life story movie plan to have this film on 3D.

Davis Guggenheim is apparently behind the film’s direction which will star the young artist himself. The film will feature many of his recording sessions and concert tours and will depict his rise as a Youtube sensation turned international pop star. This leaves many people, film enthusiasts in particular, to wonder why there is a need for a 3D treatment for it. The medium is highly effective when special effects and computer graphics are involved. But for something like a young singer’s biopic? I wonder what they are cooking up for this.

The film is expected to be released in February 11 of next year.

Taylor Swift Now a Cover Girl

Taylor Swift Now a Cover Girl

Multi-platinum singer-songwriter Taylor Swift can now add COVERGIRL to her list of accomplishments. The 20-year-old, GRAMMY award-winning star has just finished shooting her first advertisements for the beauty giant, and will represent a new line of luxury products for the brand. The ads are scheduled to debut in January 2011.

With millions of fans worldwide, Swift has achieved remarkable success since first entering the country music scene in 2006. To date she has sold more than thirteen million albums and is the top-selling digital artist in music history. Her second album, Fearless, has spent more weeks in the top spot on Billboard’s all-genre Top 20 chart than any other album this decade. The GRAMMY Awards, the Country Music Association, the Academy of Country Music, and the American Music Awards all named Fearless the 2009 Country Album of the Year and, this year, the album won the all-genre GRAMMY Award for Album of the year.

Last year, Swift earned the American Music Award for Artist of the Year and was the youngest artist ever to win the prestigious CMA Award for Entertainer of the Year.

Behind the Scenes to Lady Gaga’s Telephone and lawsuit charges

March 19, 2010 - 9:51 am 1 Comment

I guess by now, the whole world has seen the latest video from pop artist extra ordinaire, Lady Gaga. I’m talking about the much ballyhooed “Telephone” music video which also features Beyonce. Between the two ladies, that’s already worth talking about. They are some of the most inventive and unique performers we have. But more than there presence, it is the video itself that is making waves online and on television. It features some very controversially hot scenes that has Lady Gaga almost naked in some parts.

We found a Behind The Scenes footage of “Telephone” on Youtube and I think it would easily top the raunchiness and epic quality of the music video.

Here you will find Jonas Akerlund discussing some of the scenes that explains the concept of “Telephone”

The performer is still expected to unleash other videos this year, such as “Alejandro” and “Monster” and it should expectedly surpass the uproar that “Telephone” has brought about.

Speaking of Lady Gaga, her ex-boyfriend is apparently suing her to the tune of $30.5M. The dispute has to do with the fact that it was Rob Fusari who discovered the artist back in 2006 and back when she was just a lowly club singer named Stephanie Germanotta. Fulsari was the co-writer of Paparazzi and a few other hits by Lady Gaga when she was starting out. And from their business partnership since May of 2006, Fulsari has apparently not receive royalties and merchandising payments supposedly accorded to him.

This is quite a tricky situation because the two have had personal relationship mixed with business relationship and that may really be a hard line to separate.

Idol’s Top 24 Revealed

February 19, 2010 - 8:05 am No Comments

Screen shot 2010-02-19 at 2.06.34 PMHere is the group shot of this season’s contestants on American Idol. Many of them are very talented, with voices so raw and pristine. A lot of them has a shot in making it to the industry.

Among these people, one of them will emerge the winner and Simon Cowell is hoping to find the next Taylor Swift from this batch.

He said: “You want somebody who represents what is going on at the moment. I mean, look, I would love to find a Taylor Swift. Somebody who’s relevant rather than a contest winner.”

I don’t think he’d have any problem. The girls are so much better this year than the last one.

The Idol contestants will face off next week when the first live show will air.

You can follow them on Facebook, Twitter or MySpace. Just look for their accounts here.
