The New Moon Movie website is keeping a New Moon blog going, which is actually pretty cool. Of course, that means lots off pics of Rob wherever they manage to accost him with a camera (it’s not the New Moon people doing the accosting; they just post the pics).
Rob has gotten a rush of new work thanks in part to his success and newly high profile from the Twilight movie. Right now he’s filming a movie called Remember Me, and today he’s in Central Park in New York with his co-star Emilie de Ravin. In case you don’t know, Emilie is the girl he’s rumored to be with when he’s not rumored to be with Kristen Stewart. Because of course, all young actors must be sleeping with their colleagues.
So, New Yorkers, you’re probably used to this, but if you get by Central Park today, wave at Rob for me, okay?
It’s a heck of a month. Names, faces, voices from my childhood are fading away…David Carradine, Ed McMahon and now Farrah Fawcett.
She was the quintessential pin-up girl of the 70’s…everyone knew, and still knows, the poster with her in the red bathing suit (my uncles had it in their bedroom). She served a season on Charlie’s Angels, and had some hits and misses acting in films. She was eventually able to establish herself as a critically respected actress, mostly through her work in dramatic television movies such as The Burning Bed.
Her most recent television “performance” was the documentary Farrah’s Story, which followed her in her struggle with the anal cancer that eventually killed her. The cameras followed her through her seeking of alternative treatments and through her family’s dealings with her illness.
Ms. Fawcett shared her life with her long-time companion and fiance Ryan O’Neal, their son Redmond, and a few close friends and family members. She brought beauty and talent into our lives for a season, and I wish her a peaceful journey.
FHMonline is pleased to announce Megan Fox as the winner of FHM’s 100 Sexiest Women In The World 2009 poll. The Transformers actress becomes only the second woman in the 15 year history of the poll to retain her spot at the top (after Jennifer Lopez in 2001/2002).
Actresses took all the top five positions. Jessica Alba placed second (up one place), Scarlett Johansson third (up two places) and Jessica Biel fourth (down two places). Californication’s Madeline Zima was this year’s highest new entry at number five in the list.
Excluding 24’s Elisha Cuthbert (7th), the remaining places in the coveted top ten are all new. Katy Perry (10th) is a new entry and model Adriana Lima (6th), reality star Heidi Montag (8th) and actress Anne Hathaway (9th) are big climbers.
Britney Spears is the comeback queen of the year. A previous winner, Spears scraped into the 2008 list in 100th place but a tremendous online campaign by her legions of fans have seen her climb back up to 12th position.
Other notable new entries include Australian singing sisters The Veronicas (13th), actress Diora Baird (20th), Pushing Daisies’ Anna Friel (24th) and Slumdog Millionaire’s Freida Pinto (25th).
It’s generally a good year for forty-somethings with Salma Hayek (29th), Monica Bellucci (43rd), Jennifer Aniston (50th), Halle Berry (61st), Pamela Anderson (62nd), Carla Bruni (70th) and Rachael Ray (100th) all making the list.
Also figuring prominently are the Victoria’s Secret Angels. Current Angels Adriana Lima (6th), Marisa Miller (11th), Alessandra Ambrosio (64th), Heidi Klum (82nd) and Miranda Kerr (96th) all figure, with three additional ex-Angels; Gisele Bündchen (37th), Selita Ebanks (65th) and Karolina Kurkova (79th).

This might not be such a big deal if we hadn’t been here before, and recently. Just this past March, actress Natasha Richardson suffered an apparently minor head injury during a ski lesson and was dead a day later. Now we are hearing that uber-Mom Angelina Jolie has also suffered an apparently minor head injury, this time on the set of her new movie, Salt.
I guess it really was a minor injury, since she was released from the hospital and was back to filming later that afternoon. She was apparently doing one of the stunts that the movie requires when she hit her head, causing a cut between her eyes. She often does her own stunts, which require careful choreography and execution, but as far as I know she’s never been injured doing one before.
Anyway, you can’t be too careful with head injuries, as the recent tragic events have shown. I’m glad she’s okay, and I hope she doesn’t have a headache or anything.
There is something about abnormally large creatures that draws attention. And while we have seen top creatures like King Kong and Godzilla get their share of curious viewers, here is one movie that can only be watched if you rent or buy the DVD for the film. The film is Mega Shark vs. Giant Octopus.
The film stars Deborah Gibson and Lorenzo Llamas. The schlocky sci-fi thriller destined for the discount bin (it’s direct to DVD) has already been viewed over 250,000 times on YouTube. As the video spread on the Web, searches on the monster movie surged. Lookups on “sea monsters,” “mega shark vs giant octopus,” and “deborah gibson” all heated up the Search box.
While the creature feature will not be promoted at Cannes, film buffs everywhere can appreciate the combination of questionable production values, mega monsters of the deep in mortal combat, imminent danger to humankind (or at least California), and an ’80s pop sensation as a star.
It’s Friday, and it’s been a long week…so I went looking for some Twilight love. I found what is possibly the happiest information I’ve come across since we learned that Taylor Lautner will still be playing Jacob.
Hugh Jackman and Robert Pattinson will be making a movie together.

Seriously, I could end the post right there, couldn’t I?
But it gets even better. This is an Old West film in which Rachel Weisz plays a widow, and Rob’s mom, whose kids get kidnapped (I don’t know if that includes Rob; he seems a little old at 23), and Hugh Jackman has to help her find them. Or something like that. There really aren’t many more details than that out there.
We do know, however, that it was written and is being directed by Madeline Stowe, so that could be interesting. She’s been sitting on it since the early 90’s, but finally thinks the time is right. With these three names on it, chances are she’s right.
Mindy Kaling, who works on the award-winning NBC sitcom The Office, has been given a new project by NBC and Universal Media Studios. If you follow The Office, you’ll know Kaling as the once-drab-now-bubbly Kelly Kapoor, the flirtatious customer service rep for Dunder Mifflin Paper.
But Kaling is more than one of the lead actresses on the successful show. She is also one of its main writers and producers. She’s done so well with this project that NBC wants to mine her talents for the future. She’ll also play the starring role in the new, as-yet-unnamed series. Those of us who’ve enjoyed her performances on The Office, as well as in her roles in The 40-Year-Old Virgin, Unaccompanied Minor, Licensed to Wed, and Curb Your Enthusiasm will be thrilled to know she’s getting such a juicy comedy vehicle to showcase her talents.
