Manila, Philippines - ‘BROKEN VOW’ – A beautiful title for a soap. And most apt in this season of many failed marriges and relationships.

The GMA afternoon soap, which aired starting yesterday, is billed, yes, “Broken Vow,” starring Bianca King, Luis Alandy, Rochelle Pangilinan, and Gabby Eigenmann.

Now, who are the showbiz personalities who can, somehow, relate to “Broken Vow”? STORYLINE – But back to the GMA soap, which is about love and betrayal, sacrifice and vengeance.

Bianca is Melissa Santiago, provincial lass about to marry her long-time sweetheart, Roberto Sebastian (Gabby), budding politician. Luis is Felix Rastro, who helps Melissa survive a horrific ordeal. Rochelle is Rebecca Sta. Maria, the scorned and vengeful ex-GF of Roberto.

The series tells the story of Melissa, an attractive and street-smart woman who becomes the apple of the eye of Roberto, a rich councilor who falls madly in love with the unpretentious probinsyana.
