U.S. Coast Guard Academy to host Christmas Service of Lessons and Carols

Free public service to kickstart holiday season
NEW LONDON. Conn.(MMD Newswire) December 2, 2010 — – The U.S. Coast Guard Academy is scheduled to host its annual Christmas Service of Lessons and Carols Wednesday at the Coast Guard Memorial Chapel on campus here.
The service, which is free and open to the public, is scheduled to begin at 6:45 p.m. and serves as the academy’s kickoff to the holiday season.
A U.S. Coast Guard Band harpist will begin at 6:45 p.m., and the Christmas Service of Lessons and Carols begins at 7 p.m. featuring the combined Chapel Choirs and Cadet Chorale.
Rear Adm. J. Scott Burhoe and his wife Betsy will light the academy Christmas tree immediately following the service.
