Manila, Philippines – ‘PANDAY’ BACK – The heroic saga of Flavio/Panday continues – now the legendary character most identified with Bong Revilla. As always, Lizardo (portrayed by Phillip Salvador) blocks Panday’s quest for justice and peace.

Yes, Panday is back, this time he’s got a new love interest, Arlana/ Bagwis, played by Marian Rivera, a lovely lady who transforms into a dragon.

It’ll be recalled that “Panday 1” topped the 2009 Metro Manila Film Festival, No. 1 moneymaker and best picture, with Bong bagging the best actor award.

As in “Panday 1,” Mac Alejandre directs the return of Panday, also a Metro Manila filmfest entry. The two “Pandays” are joint ventures of GMA and Imus Films.

IMPRESSIVE – The trailer of “Panday 2” was shown to the movie press and it was, indeed, impressive. Direk Mac assures the main feature is even more mind-boggling and dazzling, “and has a beautiful love story. Hindi lang special and high-tech effects.”

Mac says he was a fan of the original Panday series, topbilled by the great Fernando Poe Jr. “Lahat pinanood ko.”

Aside from Marian Rivera, other beautiful faces appear in “Panday 2,” Iza Calzado, Lucy Torres, Alice Dixson, and Lorna Tolentino.
