Will Smith is seriously putting on his producer cap, going behind the scenes at several productions. He has reportedly been keen on reviving “Annie”, with his daughter Willow playing the part. He’s also involved in the movie, “The American Can” which is based on a true story.

The film is about John Keller, a regular folk living in New Orleans. And the story takes place at the height of Hurricane Katrina. John Keller is reportedly considered a hero, who stayed behind the flooded apartment complex where he lived, so that he can guard his neighbors things, as well as attend to other residents who also stayed behind.

Initially, the studio (Sony) wanted Will Smith to play the lead character, but the actor begged off and decided he will be working behind the scenes instead. He is set to also be part of M. Night Shyamalan’ s One Thousand A.E., which will begin filming in January.
