Tom Hank Working on American Gods
Tom Hanks, with his Playtone production, is determined to bring “American Gods” to the screen. The story is from the best selling book by Neil Gaiman, who shal also be serving as writer and executive producer.
The plan is to bring this to HBO and develop this as a mini-series with six seasons and at least 12 episodes each. The show will be allotted a big budget and Tom Hanks is targetting 2013 as its debut or premiere.
If you are not familiar with the story, American Gods, it’s an epic fantasy featuring Shadow, who meets all of these “gods” who now live regularly among us. Their influences on people are either becoming more powerful or less powerful, depending on how many still believe in them. These are old mythical gods we’re talking about, who apparently are losing it over to the new gods like the internet, television or today’s hot celebrity.
