Mark Anthony Fernandez takes hands off Claudine issue
Mark Anthony Fernandez’s face lit up when reminded that the final number of the mini-concert staged by GMA-7 on February 24 at its Studio 7 to launch its newest show, “Diva,” was also the title of his 1995 movie, “Mangarap Ka,” which also featured ex-girlfriend, Claudine Barretto.
“Nakakatuwa,” he said on how he felt while singing the Afterimage original with his “Diva” costars Regine Velasquez, TJ Trinidad and the rest of the cast.
In the show, Mark and TJ play musical cousins Gary and Martin vying for the affections of Regine’s chanteuse character, Melody. It’s Regine and Mark’s second team-up after 2008’s “Ako si Kim Samsoon.”
He turned somber, though, when asked why his supposed on-screen reunion with Claudine hit a sour note.
In the end though, he still gave in to the persistence of some reporters who pressed for his reaction to Claudine’s displeasure on his alleged misbehavior during negotiations for the planned movie that reportedly led to the cancellation of the project.
No’ng nagkaroon ako ng kasalanan, tumawag ako the very next day, or two days yata.”
Mark made it clear that for him, what “Startalk” host Lolit Solis meant about not being able to move on, referred to the death of his father Rudy Fernandez and not to his and Claudine’s failed romance.
