This has long been in the works and at one point, Angelina Jolie’s first directorial movie was in danger of not happening.

But there is finally something to this. The film not only found its screening date, which is slated for December 23, 2011….it has also found its title and will be called “In the Land of Blood and Honey”.

According to the statement by the actress,

“The film is specific to the Bosnian War, but it’s also universal. I wanted to tell a story of how human relationships and behavior are deeply affected by living in side a war.”

The film is financed by Graham King and Tim Headington for GK Films and has called Angelina Jolie’s filmmaking style as “impeccable, and signals the arrival of a visceral and compelling storyteller.”

“In the Land of Blood and Honey” will feature plenty of local actors from Yugoslavia. Many of whom were apparently witness to the wars that has happened there in the 1990′s. The actress will not be appearing on the film and will purely be working behind the camera. She says she find the local talent pool extraordinary.
