Oscar nominated actress Amy Adams has signed in as Lois Lane in the new Superman project that director Zack Snyder is working on. She joins Henry Cavill, who has been cast a few months back as the new Clark Kent/Superman.

According to Snyder, the process of auditioning for Lois Lane had been long and huge, and they felt that Amy Adams is perfect for the role.

Additionally, he envisions the new film about the much loved and very popular superhero to be relevant. He says — “What’s important to us is making him relevant and real and making him empathetic to today’s audience so that we understand the decisions he makes. That applies to Lois as well. She has to be in the same universe as him [in tone and substance].”

The film is set to be in theaters in 2012.
