MANILA, Philippines – “Forgiveness is one thing, [but] forgetting is different.”

This is the bittersweet statement Ronaldo Pulmano relayed to actress Jennyln Mercado and her manager Becky Aguila through an interview with “Paparazzi,” Jan. 30.  Jennylyn and Becky filed a case of “qualified theft and estafa” against Ronaldo’s wife, Rowena also known as Mel, whom they accused of forging checks in behalf of Mercado.

A week ago, Mel, who once worked as the actress’ former personal assistant, was exonerated by Judge Vivencio Baclig of the Quezon City Regional Trial Court Branch 77.

According to Ronaldo, the decision was most welcome even as Mel still faces a couple of similar cases.

“Sobrang saya kumbaga yung korona kung puro tinik eh natanggal [ang isa],” said he.

Then again, Ronaldo made obvious that he still feels a bit of rancor over the matter.

“Wala eh, maliit lang kami na tao, sila [Jennylyn and Becky] may mga pangalan. Masama [pa] din ang loob [ko pero]saglit lang. Mas nangingibabaw pa rin ang kasiyahan namin [because of the acquittal],” he explained.

Mel’s daughter, Bianca, is adamant that her mom did no wrong. She hopes her mother would be acquitted from the other cases.

In the same interview, she thanked both Jennylyn and Becky for inadvertently allowing their family to bond through the hardship they face.

“Tita Becky, Ate Jen, maraming salamat. Kahit paano, tumibay ang loob ko, tumibay ang samahan ng pamilya namin. Kahit pano [through you] na-realize ko na sobra-sobrang halaga ng pamilya.”

She affirmed that she is hurting and hopes that Jennylyn and Becky realize so.

“Kahit kayo man siguro may anak din kayo,” she said.

“Ayaw niyong mahiwalay sa inyo yung anak nyo , masasaktan din yung anak niyo kung sakaling may makulong [either of you].
