MANILA, Philippines – Actress Iza Calzado has been tapped to co-host the long-running noontime show, “Eat Bulaga.”

“Ako’y makakasama na ninyo tuwing 12 noon, pananghalian, ako’y magiging Dabarkads,” said she via PEP.

“Dabarkads” is a colloquial term used to identify hosts of the show, which include the trio of veteran comedians Joey de Leon, Vic Sotto and Tito Sotto.

Calzado said that she had long wanted to become a “Dabarkads.” She, however, kept mum when she would start on the show.

“Hindi ko pa alam kung Feb or March,” she said. “Ipa-finalize pa lang namin kasi I might need to go on vacation first.”

Just recently, Calzado fulfilled her male fans’ wish—that of posing for men’s magazine.

According to Calzado it was due in part to the prodding of her boyfriend, Atticus King. “Kasi he sees how hard I work out,” she said in a separate interview with “StarTalk” Saturday, Jan. 29.

“Nakita na niya ‘yung billboard ko sa EDSA, nakita na niya ‘yung two-piece [pictorial], Tapos [sabi niya], ‘Wow, good work, babe, good job!’

It helped as well, that King is part-owner of the magazine. “He [Atticus] owns part of Uno [magazine], and I kept telling him that, ‘You know, if I’m gonna pose for a men’s magazine, it has to be Uno.’”
