MANILA, Philippines – James “Bimby” Yap, Jr. was among those honored as “Most Favorite Child Personality” at the first-ever Lingkod TV Awards held at the Rajah Sulayman Theater at Fort Santiago in Intramuros, Manila on Dec. 29.

Receiving the award with the child celebrity are his controversial parents, presidential sister Kris Aquino and basketball star James Yap.

Aquino is elated over his son’s achievement.

“Ito yung perfect way to end the year na yung anak ko may award, I’m such a proud mama,” said she in an interview with “24 Oras.”

Yap Sr. was equally proud of his son—even as he is happy to be “friends” anew with Aquino, who is seeking to divorce him.   

“Si Baby James lumalaki na rin at least makikita niya na yung support namin ni Kris sa kanya nanduon talaga,” he said.

Young actors Zaijan Jaranilla and Jillian Ward were also given the same award.

A former model for commercials, Jaranilla rose to stardom after playing Santino on the ABS-CBN series “May Bukas Pa.” He now stars on “Noah” alongside Piolo Pascual.

Ward is the star of GMA-7’s “Trudis Liit.”

The Lingkod TV Awards is a project of the National Council for Children’s Television (NCCT), an attached agency of the Department of Education tasked to promote and encourage the production and broadcasting of developmentally appropriate television programs for children.

The NCCT is also behind the Anak TV Seal Awards.
