International singing sensation Charice Pempengco is now in good health after she was rushed in a hospital in Singapore Saturday due to food poisoning.

Charice was one of the performers in David Foster’s concert titled the “Hitman: David Foster & Friends” concert in Singapore. She experienced a bum stomach a day after she ate sushi for dinner.

Interviewed live from Cabuyao, Laguna by Raymond Guierrez on “Showbiz Central” on October 31, Charice explains she’s now out of danger.

“Sobrang okay na po ako ngayon. Noong nangyari po iyon talagang medyo nanghihina pa po ako. But right now, balik na agad not only me but lahat kami,” she said.

Relating how the incident happened, the pint-sized singer said, “That night, after po ng rehearsal punta kami sa Green Dome. Siyempre, hindi naman maiwasan na kakain kami. ‘Yung hinanda nila Asian food – may sushi, Shanghai roll and everything. Hindi naman po ako talaga kumakain ng sushi but that time I tried. Hindi naman po marami ang kinain ko pero kinabukasan ‘pag gising ko doon na sumama ‘yung pakiramdam ko.”

“Actually, medyo talagang nahilo ako. Meron pang time na talagang pinagpawisan talaga ako. Sobrang lakas na ng aircon pero pinagpawisan talaga ako. Umikot talaga ‘yung tiyan ko. And nagsuka pa po ako,” Charice recalled.

Her condition got better when she was rushed to a hospital in Singapore.

“Pero noong dinala na ako sa hospital, pina-check-up ako. Okay naman po. Lahat naman po kami naging okay agad. Nagulat nga po ang lahat ng fans kasi ‘yun nga nakita ako sa wheelchair.”

Her mentor, David Foster, showed so much concern for the world-renowned singer.

“Sabi ko kay Sir David ‘wag na kasi hindi naman po ganoon kagrabe. Sabi ni Sir David of course as a godfather responsibility niya po iyon.”

Charice and her group went on with the concert at Esplanade Theater. The singer felt it was the best performance of the group ever.

“Sobrang successful. I must say na sobrang natatawa kami na that night feeling namin iyon pa ang the best. Sa lahat ng tour na ginawa namin, feeling naming iyon pa ang the best ng performance not only me but lahat po ng peformers. Sobrang binigay na po naming ang lahat kasi siyempre iyon na po ang last concert sa Asia tour namin,” she related.

In a week’s time, Charice will fly to the United States for the recording of her new single and album. Then she will continue shooting for “Glee.” And next year she’ll mount her own tour.

When asked about her next appearance on “Glee”, Charice was tight-lipped.

“Actually po right now hindi pa po ako talaga puwedeng magsabi ng mga exact dates and everything. Ang masasabi ko po panoorin na lang po natin ang buong season. For sure babalik po si Sunshine Corazon,” she said.

But she’s all praises for her co-workers in the said television show.

“Sobrang mababait po sila. Sobrang mababait hindi lang po ‘yung cast, mga crew, director. Sobrang comfortable na makatrabaho.”

In the end, Charice thanked her multitude of fans who said a prayer for her recovery from food poisoning.

“Thank you sa prayers. Okay na po ako ngayon. Wala na pong dapat ika-worry. Good to be back here. Sana may time na makapag-perform ako for them. Thank you so much sa suporta.” (Alex Valentin Brosas)
