After denying she was with child a few news stories back, Mariah Carey has announced on the Today Show the other day that she is with child and will welcome her baby with husband Nick Cannon in the spring, next year.

The singer superstar has been widely speculated to be pregnant, and admitting this finally, has put the talks to a stop.

She said in the interview with Billy Bush, “Yes, we are pregnant, it’s true. It’s been a long journey, but it’s been tough because I’ve been trying to … hold on to a shred of privacy, and that was not easy.”

Mariah and Nick, who got married in 2008, actually had shared another secret in the family. In the same interview, she shares that they have had a miscarriage early in the marriage and it had been difficult to deal with.

She says, “It kind of shook us both and took us into a place that was really dark and difficult.When that happened … I wasn’t able to even talk to anybody about it. That was not easy.”

Her husband has been supportive of her during that ordeal, “Her strength would literally be during the day so festive and smiling obviously for cameras and spending time with everyone and you know, literally that night crying herself to sleep.” He also said that losing their first child because of a miscarriage has brought them closer together.

The couple doesn’t have any plans of knowing what the sex of the baby is, and would like this to be a surprise when her due date comes.
