News about this movie, Red Riding Hood, is so hush hush that few people reported filming for it has actually been completed. I didn’t know about the movie until I found out that news. What’s up with fairy tales becoming live action flicks these days, huh?

Anyway, news about Red Riding Hood apparently surfaced early this year, with Catherine Hardwicke as its director. She is the first one to direct the Twilight movie, in case you didn’t know and for Red Riding Hood, which also happens to be a Leonardo DiCaprio produced film, she again lends her magic to the project.

Red Riding Hood, the live action film, is a dark adaptation of the fairy tale. So it’s a lot like Twilight in a way and this was, they say the idea of DiCaprio himself (I mean to do the film this way). It has this murder-mystery element to it.

The lead role is played by Amanda Seyfried, who I think really fits the role. The film is written by David Johnson and also stars Julie Christie (no, really!), Virginia Madsen and Gary Old Man.

The film synopsis read: “In a gothic reimagining of “Little Red Riding Hood,” a girl tries to uncover the true identity of the wolf that’s been terrorizing her village for the two decades. She must also resolve her feelings for her wealthy fiance and the town’s bad boy.”
