Who Won in the Box Office For Summer Movies 2010?
In Hollywood, most studios gear up for summer releases because of it huge market potential. Many exciting family movies are released between the months of June and July since people hit the theaters expecting a fun time with friends and families. Most children’s animation are released during these times, too, to compete with plenty of action-packed flicked.
This year, the third installment to the Toy Story series, Toy Story 3, has emerged the #1 Blockbuster film of the summer, with everyone from one to one hundred years old probably watching the iconic Disney movie, and perhaps watching it more than once.
It is followed by another animation, Shrek Forever After, from DreamWorks, which actually did get much of its boost overseas, rather than in the US threaters.
Eclipse, the teen vampire flick is third in the box office returns followed by the sequel to last year’s blockbuster, Iron Man 2, with Robert Downey, Jr.
Other kid-friendly films like The Karate Kid and Despicable Me also emerged big winners earning beyond the $200 Million mark and definitely bringing home the bacon for its studios.
Inception, the critically acclaimed and much lauded Christopher Nolan film has also done well inspite of its very twisted plot. Many viewers did come out confused by the movie, but that didn’t stop them from watching it again.
