Total Recall Remake with Len Wiseman
The remake of the Total Recall movie is apparently underway and Columbia pictures has tapped Underworld director, Len Wiseman to work behind the camera for it. They are confident he can bring something contemporary to this movie.
The film, which is said to be a “new, contemporised adaptation” of the Philip K. Dick short, We Can Remember It For You Wholesale, originally came out in 1990 with then actor and now governor, Arnold Schwarzenegger in the starring role. He played this construction worker who had to travel to the planet Mars to learn of his secret identity.
The futuristic film is one of the governor’s most remembered flicks. With this new adaptation, it will definitely be interesting and I wonder if the governor will be making a cameo appearance?
Len Wiseman says of the project: “I’ve always been fascinated with Philip K. Dick’s short story, and I’m excited at the prospect of diving even deeper into the world it evokes and the questions it asks. I love that the most crucial mystery our character is trying to solve is the one of his own soul.”
Kurt Wimmer, who has written the Salt screenplay, is on board as the writer.
