It was probably the right move for Zac Efron when he decided to pass on the role for Footloose to avoid being typecasted into this teeny bopper who only dances and sings. The young actor is setting sights on being taken seriously and is out to prove to the world he can be versatile.

He is going to do a Nicholas Sparks film next. Warner Brothers has signed him on to star in the famous author’s adapted movie, The Lucky One, where Zac Efron will play a marine who survives his tour of duty in Iraq. His character believes he is lucky because he’s been carrying around this photograph of a woman he has not yet met. Returning home to find her, he instead meets a divorced mother and lusts after her. This roles is going to be a stepping stone for Zac, who has been trying to shed off this teeny bopper image.
