With the former Queen of Talk retiring very soon and then launching her own television channel in January next year, Oprah Winfrey is keen on getting the Duchess of York, Sarah Ferguson, her own talk show program.

The two have apparently discussed this possibility last week. Sarah had recently been a guest on Oprah’s talk show, defending herself from allegations she was using her access to her ex-husband, Prince Andrew, in order to extort money.

Oprah was apparently impressed with the way the Duchess handled this controversy and feels that Sarah is someone viewers will be able to relate to on many levels —  as a mother, a divorcee, a woman who has made mistakes in public, and someone who has weight issues — just like Oprah.

The talk show will be New York based but the Duchess will be able to return to England as she pleases, since her daughters are all there.
