Peter Jackson Steps Into The Hobbit
Fans of the Lord of the Rings trilogy are perhaps rejoicing when news of Peter Jackson assuming the directorial seat for The Hobbit came out over the weekend.
See, the award-winning director, who still keeps getting accolades for Lord of the Rings, several years after its run, initially said he didn’t want the director job. But when Guillermo Del Torro stepped down, looking to find his replacement was priority, lest production of the film will be suspended by MGM. Pre-production has already started with the movie and at this point, shutting down would have been very counter productive.
Of course, to fans, it makes sense for Peter Jackson to direct The Hobbit since this movie is like a partner to the Lord of The Rings. In spite many other director choices and candidates by the studio, he is the most logical choice.
Peter Jackson remains largely a part of The Hobbit even as he was not the principal director during pre-production. How they pick up the piece from where del Torro left off is what is being anticipated next.
