The classic fairy tale, Snow White, is getting a new and updated makeover via the planned Hollywood film remake. It will be a project headed by Brett Ratner who has produced series like Prison Break and movies like X-Men and Rush Hour.

According to the news, Snow White will be nothing like the Disney movie we all know and love. This live action version, whose stars are yet to be named, will be a darker series. For one thing, the seven dwarfs, which were miners in the cartoon adaptation, will be robbers in this film adaptation.

The story line is apparently taken from the original classic folk lore, written by The Brothers Grimm.

The film will be presented in 3D, as inspired by other fairy tale classic, Alice in Wonderland which was directed by Tim Burton.
