Is Ugly Betty heading to the big screen?

Now that the show has been officially cancelled and has aired its last episode last April 14th, there are rumors going around that the next step would be to take the program to the theaters, with an Ugly Betty movie. The suggestion apparently came from Betty herself, America Ferrera, who has been courting her cast mates to say yes to the project so that the crew can get it all rolling.

Says Anna Ortiz, Ferrera’s co-star who plays her sister in the show, “I will say this: It’s open. There may be a movie! It’s something that we’ve been talking about and it’s something that America Ferrera would really love to do. That woman has so much determination that I can’t imagine anything she puts her mind to not getting done.”

Well, I for one, would love to watch this movie. Make it happen, America!
