How Do You Feel About An Avatar Sequel?
It seems as though James Cameron believes in striking while the iron is hot. With his film Avatar becoming the highest grossing movie to have ever been produced, making over $2.2B all over the world, James Cameron now says that there could be plans for a sequel to the movie.
Speaking before the press at the red carpet in Santa Barbara’s Film Festival, the academy award winning director said: “A lot of ideas for the sequels kind of evolved out of writing the story for “Avatar.” Anything that we designed, ideas that we had, if we couldn’t figure out how to put them in the movie we said “We’ll stick it in the sequel,” so we have a big backlog of ideas.”
And for a story arc for the the second movie? James Cameron says he already has something in mind and it can possibly also involved a third installment.
While the project is still vague, we know at least that there is an intention to produce even more from this.
Avatar was actually a movie in the making for 15 years.
