If rumors are true, it looks like NBC’s gamble on Jay Leno isn’t working. For the last four months, the nightly Jay Leno Show, a variety-talkshow showcase hasn’t been bringing in the ratings, as expected. There are fresh reports that say his experimental show is going to be canceled.

However, there are also reports that say this will be shifted back to the 11:30 slot, kicking Conan O’ Brien’s show to the curb. Which means that if this latest shake-up is going to hold water, late night NBC is going to be bad either way.

Jay Leno is not that funny anymore, whatever time slot he is on. Putting him at 11:30 wouldn’t change all that. Leaving Conan out in the cold would also be bad. The guy has moved his entire family and life to the West Coast just for this gig.

Something is up at NBC and I’m not liking where it is going so far.
