There really is no shortage of drama in Hollywood, not even for Christmas day when news broke out that Charlie Sheen was arrested for domestic violence in Colorado. According to reports from TMZ, the police received a 911 call early Christmas Day, picked up the actor in Aspen, where his wife and twin boys have been staying for Christmas, and sent him to jail for the following charges: “felony second degree assault, felony menacing and criminal mischief, a misdemeanor. ” Sheen was out on bail the following day.

The couple, who have been married in 2008, have apparently been living separately for the last three months. But there is more to this story. More investigation revealed that Charlie Sheen’s wife, Brooke Mueller, was allegedly drunk the day of the attack. Sheen had told the police he was just defending himself against her. But she also claims her husband threatened her with a knife.

This fight seems to be more violent than what I’ve earlier guessed, given Sheen’s marital history. He was previously married to Denise Richards and they also had their own cases of domestic violence to wrap up with the police.

The couple have been advised to undergo counseling, both marriage and anger management courses. They, however, have not expressed any intention to split. Their spokesperson says: “I have spoken to all parties concerned. There are no plans for divorce. They are both deeply upset about what happened and are trying to work things out amicably. They both want to get away from all the sensationalism surrounding what happened and quietly resolve things.”
