The awards show isn’t coming until February or March next year, but these movies are slowly creeping into the list of strong Oscar contenders.

Inglorious Basterds – Some say it’s 2009′s best. And with The Weinstein Company at their backing, we’re probably going to be hearing a lot of Oscar buzz between Brad, Quentin & the Basterds in the months to come.

Nine – The yet to be released film is generating a lot of talk. It’s star-studded. It has a lot of crazy characters. It’s a musical. It’s by Rob Marshall. The Oscar jury love films like this.

Precious – Critics gave this one glowing reviews and will probably be this year’s Slumdog Millionaire. Plus, it stars an unknown who critics say is really good… which makes this movie even a lot special.
