It’s hard to describe the impact John Hughes made on a generation–my generation.  The teens in his films were either just our age or a little older, and during the 80’s John Hughes was young enough that he didn’t have to speculate what teen angst felt like.  We popped in Ferris Bueller’s Day Off a few months ago for our kids to watch–we still knew all the  lines, and my kids completely related to it.  Now they go around the house quoting the lines.    His other writing and/or directing credits include Home Alone and Home Alone 2: Lost in New York, Sixteen Candles, She’s Having a Baby, and possibly the most iconic of all, The Breakfast Club.

Our condolences go out to John’s family.  We’ll miss him a lot.
