Columbia Picture, Peter Berg and superstar Will Smith are set to work together again to do the sequel to last year’s Summer blockbuster, Hancock. The Hollywoord Reporter confirms this as official yet there is no word if Jason Bateman and Charlize Theron are set to return to working in the film, too.

The plot of the sequel has not yet been revealed but in an interview with Will Smith last year, even as the project has not yet been officially confirmed, we are to expect new superhero characters to appear.

The movie production has hired Adam Fierro and Glen Mazzara as writers of Hancock 2. They have worked in TV shows like 24 and Dexter.

Hancock was quite an enjoyable Summer film to watch. It had darker comedic elements to it. And with Smith’s star power, I’m not surprised this sequel is happening.
