Congratulations go out to Oscar-nominated actor Djimon Hounsou and his fiancee Kimora Lee Simmons, the CEO of the Baby Phat clothing company.  Simmons gave birth to their first son, Kenzo Lee Hounsou on Monday.

Simmons has two daughters from her previous marriage, so this is her first son, and Hounsou had no children, so this is his first anything.

Djimon Hounsou is one of my favorite actors, though it was kind of more fun for me when I was the only one who knew who he was.  Now he’s all Oscar-nominated (totally deserved) and working with Leo DiCaprio, so he’s on a lot of people’s radar screens.  Ah, well, because I love him I shouldn’t want to keep him to myself.  I truly am happy that he’s found such wonderful professional and personal success.

Congratulations to Djimon and Kimora.  To baby Kenzo: welcome to the world!  It’s nice to have you here.
