It’s kind of hard to piece together what went down.  Apparently, Monday night there was a big costume gala at the Metropolitan Museum of Art.  And for some reason, at this gala, Keifer Sutherland head-butted designer Jack McCollough. 

The police report says that Sutherland was talking to a woman at the bar when McCollough stepped between them–I guess to get a drink–and Sutherland got cross with him.  They exchanged words, and Sutherland ended up head-butting him in the nose. 

To spice it all up a little, there are rumors that the woman Sutherland was talking to at the bar was Brooke Shields.  But that’s not confirmed.   

McCollough pressed charges, a warrant was issued for Sutherland’s arrrest, and he turned himself in and was arrested today in Manhattan.

Now all this is bad enough, but it might put Sutherland in hotter water than a minor misdemeanor assault charge.  He’s already on 5 years’ probabtion for a 2007 drunk driving charge.  He spent 48 days in jail for that one…because it happened when he was on probation for another drunk drivin charge.  And you only get so many second chances.
