…but there may have been a lot more to it than that.

Here’s what we know for sure: On Saturday night, Hasselhoff got drunk and was admitted to the hospital.  He went home earlier today.

Here’s what we don’t know: the rest of the story.

Hasselhoff’s ex-wife, who is forbidden by divorce decree to talk to the press about him at all, says that their 16-year-old daughter found Hasselhoff passed out and foaming at the mouth, a major sign of alcohol poisoning.  She was unable to wake him up, and so called an ambulance.  He was taken to the hospital, where he was admitted with a blood alcohol level of .39.

I didn’t know a person could continue to live with a blood alcohol level that high. 

Anyway, Hoff’s lawyer is furious at what the ex is saying.  He calls this account of Saturday’s events “exaggerated” and “grossly inaccurate.”  The lawyer says that Hoff was drunk, but started to feel sick, and had someone drive him to the hospital, walking to and from the car on his own steam.

I don’t really know what to think.  The lawyer is threatening to sue the ex (Pamela Bach) for violating the divorce agreement and spreading libellous stories.  But the ex has talked to her daughter, and she does have some specifics…pretty darn scary ones.

But you know, when it comes down to it, if you drink enough to put you in the hospital, it’s too much.  Get help, dude.  You have a kid to think about.
