The Dukes of Hazard
My DH picked up the first season of The Dukes of Hazard at the flea market the other day, and we’ve been watching episodes with the kids. My 13-year-old already has a crush on Bo Duke, but I myself always preferred Luke. And of course, DH was in love with Daisy for…wait, that hasn’t actually ended.
So I wondered what happened to all these folks. I know John Schneider is still doing TV, and that Tom Wopat was on a sitcom for a while. Anyway, I thought I’d check.
John Schneider (Bo Duke)

John Schneider has done extremely well in television. Some of his most famous roles were Jonathan Kent in “Smallville,” Ram Peters in “Nip/Tuck,” Daniel Simon in “Dr. Quinn Medicine Woman,” and Marshall Bowman in “The Secret Life of the American Teenager.”
Tom Wopat (Luke Duke)

Tom Wopat has branched out from television, though he did have a lead role in “Cybill” and has made dozens of guest appearances. He’s also appeared in films and in many important theater roles.
Catherine Bach (Daisy Duke)

Catherine Bach has played a long-term role on the TV show “African Skies,” plus made a career of small television and film roles and guest appearances.
Denver Pyle (Uncle Jesse)
Denver Pyle died on Christmas Day, 1997, after spending the remainder of his career continuing in television and films.
Sorrell Booke (Boss Hogg)
After Dukes, Boss did small parts on television, plus quite a few animation voice-overs. He died in 1994.
James Best (Roscoe P. Coltrane)

The Sherrif continues to take small roles in film and television, much as he did before he worked on Dukes.
Sonny Shroyer (Enos Strate)

“Hazard County’s oldest living virgin” still lives in Georgia, but continues to work mostly in film, with occasional television appearances. And in case you were wondering, he has two grown sons.
That was fun. These people were part of my childhood, so it’s interesting to know where they are and how things went for them once they were no longer in my living room every Friday night.
