Rob’s Favorite Scene

I really had to do a Rob Pattinson article today, because I dreamed about him last night.  I figured that was his way of telling me that it had been too long since I blogged about him.

Someone asked Rob what scene he was most looking forward to in New Moon, the 2nd film of the Twilight Saga.  He answered,  ”The scene where we temporarily break up.  On one hand, it’s completely impossible. And on the other, it sets a very different tone to the series. I think it will be good.”

That scene in the book is very intense, and nobody does intensity like Rob.  I’m impressed, too, that as an actor he knows that it’s the emotionally complex scenes that are the hardest, but also the richest–these are what you live for in this work.

I just can’t wait to see how he and Kristen do it.  I am SO looking forward to being miserable with them!

When I dream of Rob, generally it’s just God telling me we’re destined to be together.

Oh! I am very much looking forward to how that scene goes from the pages to the big screen. That’s definitely an intense scene. I’m also looking forward to how Kristen does Bella afterward. Should prove to be quite heartwrenching.

I hope they really milk it for its angst. Everyone is supposed to suffer in this movie–so much so that you can’t believe they COULD suffer more in the 3rd. And I really want Taylor Lautner to be able to show his acting chops. I have every confidence, though that Stewart and Pattinson can do angst and suffering. But, can Chris Weitz? That’s the question.

I just checked out his stats at IMDB, and I haven’t seen anything else he’s directed. I have no idea what to expect from him. Hopefully good things…

While I was there (at IMDB), I saw some articles about Drew Barrymore possibly directing Eclipse?!?! Huh?!

The best thing I’ve seen from Chris Weitz is About A Boy, which is very good. But it’s more of a romantic comedy with some deeper overtones. And of course, he directed the American Pie movies, which DID have some poignant moments. But those are all chiefly comedies. New Moon is SO not that. But hey… one of my other most-anticipated films is being directed by Chris Columbus, so I shouldn’t compain about Chris Weitz. I guess. It could be worse.
